This course provides the elementary topics of machine learning. It aims to explain the potential and the limitations of machine learning. Additionally, the course aims to provide an introduction to Python programming, which is indispensable for implementation of machine learning algorithms.
This course covers basic topics in machine learning and artificial intelligence including:
1) What does it mean to make machines learn?
2) How can we make machines learn by writing Python codes?
3) What problem can we solve by making machines learn?

この授業では、機械学習に関する基本的な話題の学習を通じて、機械学習の可能性と限界を理解することを目標とする。さらに、機械学習の実装に不可欠であるPythonプログラミングの基礎の習得も目標とする。

この授業は機械学習と人工知能に関する以下のような基本的な話題をカバーしている。
（１）機械に学習させるということは何を意味するのか？
（２）Pythonのプログラムを書くことでどのようにして機械に学習させることができるのか？
（３）機械に学習させることでどのような問題が解けるようになるのか？

機械学習に関する予備知識は必要ない。ただし、授業内容にPythonプログラミングが含まれており、課題も出るため、単位を取得するためにはPythonでプログラムを書けるようになることが必須である。筆記試験にもPythonのプログラミングの問題が出題される。プログラミングの環境としては、ブラウザ上でGoogle Colabolartoryを使うため、授業が対面で行われる場合は、ノートPCを持参すること。
