To understand the current state of the Japanese economy and its historical development and have a perspective of how the economy actually operates.
Students will gain an understanding of the development path taken by the Japanese economy from the wartime economy through the postwar reconstruction, period of high growth, and up to today’s low growth period. Having said that, the coverage will not be limited to Japan but will also include the mutual exchange between Japan and Asia as well as diverse areas such as the development of individual industries, infrastructure formation, business investment, and the promotion of economic policies. This is expected that as a result of this students will become able to recognize from a broad perspective how economic operations affect us.
Based on the above problem awareness, students will read a variety of texts related to the Japanese economy and discuss among themselves the reports that are given.

日本経済の現状と史的展開を理解し、実態としての経済作動についてのパースペクティヴを持たせる。
To understand the current state of the Japanese economy and its historical development and have a perspective of how the economy actually operates.
戦時経済から戦後再編、高成長期を経て低成長の現在に至るまでの日本経済の発展経路について理解する。とはいえ日本だけに限定せず、日本とアジアとの相互交流をも視野に入れて、個別産業の発展、インフラの形成、企業投資、経済政策の推進などといった多様な部門に関して遠慮なく議論してもらう。それを通じて学生諸君が実態としての経済作動が我々に及ぼす影響をより大きな視野から認識することを期待する。
このゼミでは以上の問題意識に基づいて日本経済に関する多様なテキストを読み、担当者の報告の上、参加者同士で討論を行う。
