To train students in theoretical thinking and ideas in economics and to learn the application of such thinking and ideas to the real economy.
Theory in economics is one of the most unpopular areas for students. However, a theory is simply a systematization of ways of thinking. Even if you accumulate knowledge about the real economy in fragments, the amount of information is so vast that it is probably too much for individual students to handle. One of the roles of theory is to provide a coherent outlook and a systematized way of thinking about such a complex reality. The very reason why students should study economic theory is to acquire such systematic thinking.
In this seminar, with the above in mind, we will read texts that discuss the application of economic theory in a round-reading format, with reports by the assigned students and discussion by all participants.
In addition, the seminar students have participated in group activities, such as the Securities seminar contest. Therefore, we seek students willing to participate in these group activities.

経済学の理論は学生諸君にとって不人気な分野の一つである。とはいえ，理論とは平たく言えば，ものの見方・考え方の体系化の一つに過ぎない。現実の経済に関する知識を断片的に積み重ねてみても，その情報量は膨大でおよそ学生諸君個人では処理できないようなものであろう。そうした複雑な現実に対して，ある程度の一貫した見通しを与え，体系化された考え方を提供するのが理論の役割の一つである。学生諸君が経済理論を学ぶべき理由は，まさにこうした体系的な思考を身につけることそのものにある。
このゼミでは以上の問題意識を持ちつつ，経済理論やその応用を論じたテキストを輪読し，担当者による報告と全員での討論をおこなう。
なお上記に加えて，ここ数年は証券ゼミナール大会への参加など，ゼミ生同士のグループ活動も大部を占めるようになっている。これらのグループ作業にも積極的に関わる姿勢・意欲のある学生を求めます。
