【Course Objectives】

The purpose of this class is to write a graduation thesis. Thus, students aim to find their own questions by collecting prior studies and references and critically examining them. Based on this, students are then required to plan and carry out specific surveys.

【Course Contents】

Our society is based on a consumer society. In order to understand the nature of this consumer society, in the first half of the class, we will read the basic literature on consumer society. By doing so, students will be able to deepen their interest in the issues, and in the latter half of the class, they will be asked to conduct a survey focusing mainly on Tokyo, with themes such as malls, housing, automobiles, fashion, tourism, and sub-culture. Students are required to present the results, discuss them, and compile a report.
