The purpose of this class is to understand the extent of each field in sociology based on the "Essential Sociology 1" and to acquire basic knowledge of the especially important fields.
Sociology deals with a very broad range of issues. How can sociology solve the various problems that arise in modern society? In this course, major areas studied by sociology and sociological approaches related to them are concretely introduced.
The lecture consists of the first part on labor, consumption and environment, the second part on family, gender and welfare, the third part on city, ethnicity and religion, and the fourth part on mass communication, journalism and media. Though the content of each class is based on "common resume", there are cases in which different examples are introduced and explained in each class.

「社会学原論１」を踏まえて，社会学の個別領域の広がりを理解するとともに，主要な領域についての基礎的知識を身につける。
The purpose of this class is to understand the extent of each field in sociology based on the "Essential Sociology 1" and to acquire basic knowledge of the especially important fields.
社会学はきわめて多様なテーマを問うことができる学問である。現代社会に生起するさまざまな問題を社会学はどのように解明できるのだろうか。この講義では，社会学が研究するいくつかの個別領域について検討し，現代社会に対する社会学的アプローチを身につけていく。
講義は，労働・消費・環境をめぐる第1のパート，家族・ジェンダー・福祉をめぐる第2のパート，都市・エスニシティ・宗教をめぐる第3のパート，マスコミュニケーション・ジャーナリズム・メディアをめぐる第4のパートからなる。各クラスの授業内容は「共通レジュメ」に基づくが，それぞれのクラスで異なる事例の紹介や解説がなされる場合がある。
