What is development? How can we foster international collaboration? This course aims to answer those questions though learning about theory and practice of economic, political and social development in the world.
This course is intended as an introductory survey of the political, social, and economic development. By the end of the course, students will be familiar with the history and current main issues concerning international development. We will also examine the range of explanations and theories that have been developed to solve various global issues such as poverty, denial of human rights, and climate change.

「開発」とは何か、「国際協力」はどのように可能かについて自ら問い、国際開発・協力に関する基礎と実践を幅広く理解することを目標とします。また、グローバル化が深化した国際社会において、地球規模の諸問題を解決する方法を考察することも目指します。
What is development? How can we foster international collaboration? This course aims to answer those questions though learning about theory and practice of economic, political and social development in the world.
「開発」への歴史的、理論的なアプローチを経済開発、社会開発、人間開発や開発政治の視点から分析し、近年グローバル化と反グローバル化が衝突する国際社会における人権、貧困や環境問題などの解決方法を、グローバル市民の一員として考察し協働するための基礎知識を習得します。
