The purpose of this course is to facilitate a deeper understanding of the basic concepts and research/analysis methods of qualitative research.
This course covers a wide range of research cases in the various fields of sociology, and it analytically examines the characteristics of these studies as well as the methodologies used. The course imparts knowledge of various methods of qualitative research. It also facilitates the gaining of perspectives that enable one to think analytically about qualitative research, and it provides a basis for understanding the process of qualitative research compared to that of quantitative research.

本講は、質的研究が備える基礎的な考え方や調査／分析手法について学び、理解を深めることを目的とする。
The purpose of this course is to facilitate a deeper understanding of the basic concepts and research/analysis methods of qualitative research.
具体的には、社会学の諸領域における研究事例を広くとりあげ、それら研究の特徴や、利用されている方法論を分析的に検討していく。こうした作業を通じて、質的調査法の多種多様な調査法を学ぶだけでなく、質的研究それ自体について分析的に考えたり、質的研究という営みを量的研究との関係において理解したりするための視点を得ることを目指す。
