The goal of this College of Intercultural Communication introductory course is to teach students the basic knowledge of language and communication studies. Instructors will lecture on introductory material in their respective areas of specialization to provide students with the opportunities and materials they need to decide for themselves what and how to study in the College of Intercultural Communication.
Instructors will take turns lecturing on communication studies, interpreting and translation studies, language studies, English language education and Japanese language education.

異文化コミュニケーション学部における導入科目であり、言語およびコミュニケーションの研究についての基本的な知識を得ることを目標とする。担当教員がそれぞれの専門分野について入門的な内容を講義することで、異文化コミュニケーション学部でなにをどのように学ぶのか、履修者が自分で考え判断する機会と材料を提供することを目的とする。

本科目は輪講形式で行われ、担当教員がコミュニケーション研究、通訳翻訳研究、言語研究、英語教育、日本語教育の分野について講義を行う。
