The purpose of this introductory course of the College of Intercultural Communication is to provide students with foundational knowledge on global studies, according them with multiple perspectives on the subject. Instructors will introduce students to foundational material in their respective areas of specialization to provide students with the requisite opportunities and resources to select what and how to study at the College of Intercultural Communication.
Instructors will take turns in lecturing students on culture, history, literature, art, cultural anthropology, international coopration, and sustainability. In the first session, students will be handed lecture schedules detailing the instructors who will teach each class. During the course, students will be exposed to diverse methodologies pertaining to each area of specialization and research theme. It is important to note that assignments will be given for each lecture to broaden the perspectives of students and to equip them with the ability to approach a problem from multiple perspectives.

異文化コミュニケーション学部における導入科目であり、グローバル研究についての基本的な知識と多元的な視点を得ることを目標とする。担当教員がそれぞれの専門分野について入門的な内容を講義することで、異文化コミュニケーション学部で何をどのように学ぶのか、履修者が自ら考え判断する機会と材料を提供することを目的とする。

本科目は輪講形式で行われ、担当教員が文化、歴史、文学、芸術、文化人類学、国際協力、サステナビリティなどの分野について講義を行う。専門分野と研究テーマごとに、多元的かつ多様な方法論に触れることができる。毎回それぞれの講義にもとづく課題が出され、それに取り組むことによって広い視野と複眼的な思考能力を身につけていく。
