1) Students will become more aware of how communication in a variety of settings affects their everyday lives.
2) Students will be able to communicate effectively in interpersonal, small group, and public settings through learning and discussing key concepts/theories in communication studies.
3) Students will be able to interrogate communication phenomena critically.
This course is a survey course designed to assist students in increasing their knowledge and skills of communication including listening, verbal and nonverbal communication. Through learning and discussing key theories and concepts in communication studies, it aims at helping students communicate effectively in interpersonal, small group, and public settings. This course also approaches communication from a critical perspective that questions and challenges what we take for granted in our daily interactions.
