【Course Objectives】

Students will learn about contemporary American teenagers (2000-2020s) and practice intercultural competence through in-depth looks at cultural differences, traditions, and conflicts and tensions. Through this course, students will gain a deeper understanding of contemporary American culture, as well as practice critical thinking skills and reflective writing and discussion.

Coursework will be divided between individual readings of critical passages with written replies, and group work focused on three short presentations. There will be a final solo presentation at the end of the term. Presentations will share imaginary SNS accounts created by students that attempt to accurately portray current-day American teens.
