Fieldwork is a basic research method for a range of social science students and scholars, including cultural anthropology. This course provides an opportunity to overview its goals, history and methodologies (in-person & virtual), and to reflect on some ethical considerations. Students make a mini-research proposal, practice some fieldwork and finally present their research outcomes.

- 調査方法としてのフィールドワークの考え方と方法を知る。
- それぞれの方法の強みと課題を説明する。
- フィールドワークをはじめ民族誌的調査に伴う倫理的課題について議論する。
- 各自の関心に応じてフィールドワークを行い、民族誌記事を執筆する。

フィールドワークは社会科学諸分野の研究者及び学生に広く用いられる調査方法で、文化人類学者にとっても非常に重要なものである。この授業ではフィールドワークがなしうること、その歴史、そして様々な方法（対面・非対面ともに）についての知識を身につけた上で、フィールドワークに伴う倫理的諸課題について議論する。受講者は関心のあるテーマについて調査計画を作成しフィールドワークを行なった上で民族誌記事を執筆する。
Fieldwork is a basic research method for a range of social science students and scholars, including cultural anthropology.
