【Course Objectives】

Students will learn key concepts and theories of intercultural communication and apply them to analyze social issues and everyday intercultural communication.

【Course Contents】

This course introduces students to the field of intercultural communication studies, key concepts and theories, and ways of applying them to critically assess social issues related to intercultural communication as well as everyday intercultural communication. This course first addresses how intercultural communication emerged as an academic field and what it means to study and practice intercultural communication in today’s world in which people are more connected with each other and simultaneously more divided among each other than before. Then students will learn key concepts and theories of intercultural communication and apply them to examine intercultural communication issues.
