Combining each student’s interests with issues they are aware of, students will whittle down possible research topics and finalize the topic, collect necessary literature, accumulate background knowledge and existing research on the topic.
Every week each student will write a report summarizing knowledge acquired from literature covered in line with their research topic. Then via a question and answer session based on the report, students can check the consistency of their logic and find other areas they need to investigate. By independently asking questions and expressing their opinion about others' reports, students will improve their ability to objectively critique the work of others. Depending on the students' needs, the mechanics of how to write an academic paper will be reviewed.

各自の興味と問題意識に合わせて、研究テーマを絞り込み、確定する。また、必要な文献を収集し、問題の背景や先行研究の知識を積み上げていく。

各自の研究テーマに沿って、毎週、文献を読んで得た知識を報告文としてまとめ、それに対する質疑応答を通して、自分の論理の整合性、更に調べるべき事柄などを確認していく。他の報告に対して第三者として質問や意見を述べることにより、客観的な批判能力を磨いていく。必要に応じて、論文の書き方の復習も同時に行う。
