The goal of this seminar is for students to determine themes for Senior Research and Thesis by connecting their awareness of various issues to academic themes, and classes are conducted to help students master the fundamental elements (research methods and the like) required to make that determination.
This seminar will focus on urban cultural studies as a continuation of Advanced Seminar 2. We will focus on the cities that have produced many different cultures, familiarize students with the literature, thought, art and other forms of expression that cities have given rise to, and further their understanding of cultural diversity. Each student will dig deeper on the theme they chose in Advanced Seminar 2 and shape it into a final product through interim presentations and presentations of results.

専門演習２に引き続き,都市文化論を扱う。多様な文化を生み出してきた都市に着目し，都市が生み出した文学，思想，芸術などのさまざまな表現形態に親しみ，文化の多様性についての理解を深める。専門演習２で確定した各自のテーマを参加者それぞれが深め，中間発表と成果発表を経て成果物の形にまとめる。
