The objective of this course is to achieve a basic understanding of the General Provisions of the Civil Code and the Property Law (except the Law of Security).
Civil Law is the set of basic laws which regulate the relationships between private individuals, and students will often require a fundamental grounding in Civil Law when studying various legal fields going forward.
As a starting point to studying Civil Law, the lectures will examine the General Provisions of the Civil Code (Part I of the Civil Code. From Article 1 to Article 169) and the Law of Property (except the Law of Security. Chapter 1-3 of the Part II of the Civil Code. From Article 174 to Article 264-14).
In the world of Civil Law, we focus on and regulate the three factors in the relationships between private individuals which are “persons”, “objects”, and “acts.” The goal of this lecture is to understand how to solve various specific problems using the basic thinking framework of Civil Law. Classes are planned to be as easy to understand as possible, using concrete examples.

民法総則・物権法（担保法を除く）についての基本的な理解を得ることを目指します。
The objective of this course is to achieve a basic understanding of the General Provisions of the Civil Code and the Property Law (except the Law of Security).
民法は私人と私人の関係を規律する基本的な法律であり，これから皆さんがさまざまな法領域を勉強するに際しても，しばしば民法に関する基礎的素養が必要となります。
本講義では，その民法の学習の出発点として、民法総則（民法典第1編総則の部分。第1条から第174条まで）と物権法（担保法を除く。民法典第2編物権の第1章から第3章まで。第175条から第264条の14まで）を検討対象とします。
民法の世界では、私人と私人の関係を「人」と「物」と「行為」という3つのファクターに着目して規律しています。民法の基本的な思考枠組を用いながら，さまざまな具体的な問題の解決法を理解することが本講義の目標です。できる限り分かりやすく，具体例を用いて授業を進める予定です。
