EX125 |
Writing is far from an easy task. Students and professionals face the challenge of writing in a fluid, clear, and objective way while also dealing with intricate and often obscure legal language. The main objective of this course is to analyze the English vernacular focused on academic writing in law.
The objectives of this course are to help students:
1) write clearly and concisely in English
2) learn how to organize ideas, and create and refine prose
3) revise and understand key aspects of writing in English
The course is designed for non-native speakers of English. However, the second half of the course is more challenging and focused on academic writing within the legal context.
Students will learn the basics of legal writing with a focus on two main aspects. First, how to write clearly avoiding common mistakes often seen in legal writings. Secondly, how to write essays, reports, and exam questions in a clear and logical manner.
※Please refer to Japanese Page for details including evaluations, textbooks and others.
