The objective of this course is to acquire fundamental knowledge about the significance, background, and methods of social research.
In this class we aims to understand various types of social research methods, data collection and analysis processes, and the history and research ethics of social research. We will learn the fundamental aspects of the Social Research Methods so that be able to read research data. In addition, We try to discuss and reveal the problems and issues in current social research.

社会調査の意義・背景・方法に関わる基本的知識を習得する。
The objective of this course is to acquire fundamental knowledge about the significance, background, and methods of social research.
社会科学において、社会調査はデータを得るための手段として重要である。基本的な方法的基準を理解することなしには、社会に関する正しい知見は得られない。
本授業では、さまざまな社会調査の手法やデータ収集・分析のプロセス、社会調査の歴史と調査倫理などについて解説する。社会調査法の基本的な事項を学習し、既存の調査データを読み解く力を身に着けることを目的とする。さらに現在の社会調査が持つ問題や論点に関して議論・考察できる力を養う。
In this class we aims to understand various types of social research methods, data collection and analysis processes, and the history and research ethics of social research. We will learn the fundamental aspects of the Social Research Methods so that be able to read research data. In addition, We try to discuss and reveal the problems and issues in current social research.
