【Course Objectives】

In order to acquire knowledge concerning foreign law which is needed for the study of law, students in this course will study the methods of comparative law, areas adjacent to comparative law, the doctrine of legal families, law and globalization, and other topics. In particular, this course will focus on the impact of globalization of comparative law. While it will be insufficient, it is hoped that this course will also play a role as an introduction to law.

【Course Contents】

This course will use the textbook written by myself. The lectures will focus on the basic theories of comparative law. As the second part of this lecture, I will analyze the study of comparative legal history by Prof. Mathias Reimann, or the method of comparative law written by Prof. Giuseppe Monateri.
