The goal of this course is to help students to understand the key principles and concepts of international environmental law and to explain their characteristics and basic architectures of several multilateral environmental treaties.
This course is designed to provide an introduction of International environmental law, It will survey the basics of international environmental law, beginning with an overview of global environmental challenge and core legal principles including sustainable development, precautionary principle/approach, intergenerational equity, common but differentiated responsibility, common heritage of mankind. It will cover several legal regimes such as climate change, ozone layers, biodiversity, marine pollution, CITES, trans-boundary pollution.

国際環境法の原則および概念の理解を深め、代表的な多国間環境条約の特徴について説明できる。
The goal of this course is to help students to understand the key principles and concepts of international environmental law and to explain their characteristics and basic architectures of several multilateral environmental treaties.
国際環境法の入門科目である。地球規模の環境問題の特徴と規制の必要性を認識し、国際環境法の基本原則および基本概念を学ぶ。基本原則及び基本概念としては、持続可能な開発、予防原則・予防アプローチ、世代間衡平、共通だが差異ある責任、人類共通の遺産などが含まれる。また、授業の公判では、具体的な環境事例および多国間環境条約を個別に検討する。気候変動や、オゾン層、生物多様性、海洋汚染、希少動植物保存、有害廃棄物の越境移動などである。
国際法1および2を履修していない者は、履修前に、国際法の教科書を入手して目を通しておくことを強く推奨する。
