The purpose of this course is to provide each student with an opportunity to consciously examine the methods used to build a career which is well-suited to them by thinking about how their studies in the College of Law and Politics relate to society while receiving clues to obtain the information which is necessary when thinking about a future career path.
In this class, students will learn from direct experience what the essential communication skills for living in society are while understanding diverse ways of thinking, broadly and deeply considering their own career, and using it as an opportunity to take action. In addition, when taken during the fall semester of the second year when students begin to formally study the specialized disciplines, this course will reconfirm the significance and methods of study within the College of Law and Politics.
Specifically, this course will invite guest speakers who are primarily graduates of the university's College of Law and Politics to provide information and points of view about careers. Through Q&A sessions between the guest speakers and students, comment card submissions, and writing reports, students will clarify and become able to express their own self opinion in regard to the relationship between their studies in the College of Law and Politics and their career as well as what it means "to work" and "to live. In addition, training will be conducted to improve communication skills through individual, pair, and group work. ,

この授業は、受講者一人一人が、将来の進路を考えるに際して必要な情報を手に入れる手がかりを得るとともに、法学部での学修が社会とどのように関わっているかについて考えることにより、各自にふさわしいキャリアを形成するための方法について、自覚的に検討する機会を与えることを目的とする。

多様な考え方を知り、自分のキャリアについて広く深く考え、行動する契機とするとともに、社会で生きていくために不可欠なコミュニケーション能力がいかなるものかを体験的に学ぶ。さらに、2年次秋学期という専門科目を本格的に学び始めた時期において、法学部の学修の意義と方法を再確認する。
具体的には、本学法学部卒業生を中心としたゲストスピーカーを招き、キャリアに関する情報や考え方を提供する。ゲストスピーカーと受講生との質疑応答、コメント・カードの提出、レポート作成等を行い、法学部における学修とキャリアとの関係、また「働く」こと、さらには、「生きる」ことについて、受講生が自己の見解を明確にもち、それを表現できるようにする。あわせて、個人、ペア、グループワークによるコミュニケーション能力向上のトレーニングを行う。

本講義では学生の積極的な参加が望まれるので、事前に問題意識を持って参加すること。
参考文献に掲げた書物を中心に、キャリアデザインに関する基本的知識を得たり、ゲストスピーカーの業界や職種、企業などについて、会社四季報や諸文献、インターネットによって情報を随時得ておくこと。日頃から、社会の動きにアンテナを張り、分野を問わず、さまざまな問題について関心を持ち、自分で調べておくこと。
