This seminar aims to acquire the ability to identify the issue about laws to be solved and imagine the scientific approach which could provide helpful findings while considering that issue.
In this seminar, students are required to read articles about empirical legal studies. Simultaneously, students are also required to identify the issue to be solved and design a rough research plan that could contribute to the discussion.

法的な問題を特定し，その問題を考えるために必要な社会調査を構想する能力を涵養することを目標とする。
This seminar aims to acquire the ability to identify the issue about laws to be solved and imagine the scientific approach which could provide helpful findings while considering that issue.
法社会学に関連する実証研究の具体例に触れるため，関連する論文を読み進めるとともに，自分の関心のあるテーマについて問題を特定し，調査の方法について構想を練っていく。

文献講読の回は，報告担当者を決めて，担当学生に報告をしてもらう。そのため，担当となった学生には，論文の内容をまとめ，疑問点や論点を整理したレジュメを準備してもらう。また，担当となっていない学生も対象文献に事前に目を通す。
また，本演習では，各自がテーマを定めて大まかな調査方法について提案をまとめてもらう。したがって，演習で扱う論文を参考にしながら，自分の関心に即した研究論文や調査方法に関する参考書を読み進めていくことが求められる（どのような文献を読むべきかについては，各自の関心に即して適宜助言する）。その内容について，春学期の終わりに中間的な報告をしてもらい，さらに秋学期の終わりに最終報告をしてもらう。
なお，文献講読や中間／最終報告の回数は，履修学生の人数に応じて調整をすることがある。
