This seminar will cover the topic on the various documents which listed companies would publish. Listed companies publish a wide range of documents, such as reference documents for general meetings of shareholders, various financial statements, securities reports published to the securities markets, corporate governance reports and third-party committee investigation reports that are published when a special committee is formed in the event of 'misconduct'. Some are legally required to be published, while others are published on a voluntary basis.Their contents not only provide clues to deciphering the business situation of the company in question, but also provide clues as to how the company should respond to social issues surrounding the company, such as environmental problems.
In this class, participants will start by considering which materials to pick up and how to evaluate these reports from the perspectives of investors, employees, managers and consumers..
Participants will have the opportunity to present a report individually or as a group two to three times during the semester.

株式会社、特に上場企業ではさまざまな文書が公表される。株主総会にかかる参考書類や各種決算書類、証券市場に対して公表する有価証券報告書、コーポレートガバナンス報告書、「不祥事」があったときに特別委員会を構成して発表される第三者委員会調査報告書など、法律上公表が求められているものもあれば、任意で公表されているものもある。それらの内容は、当該株式会社の事業状況を解読する手がかりとなるのみならず、環境問題やグローバル化など会社を取り巻く社会的な課題にどのように対応すべきなのかを考えるてがかりにもなるだろう。この授業では参加者が、まずどのような資料をピックアップするか考えるところから始め、投資家、従業員、経営者、一般消費者などの視点からこれらの報告書をどのように評価するか、検討する。
参加者は、グループまたは個人で学期中、2～3回報告する機会がある。
