【Course Objectives】

Does climate change affect the way of politics? How is it doing so? Will climate change destabilise societies? This seminar will focus on the political science aspects of climate change issues, reading the latest literature on these questions. In particular, students will deepen their perspective on specific issues by studying theoretical debates at the global level as well as cases from the regional level, known as the Global South.

【Course Contents】

In this seminar, we will read assigned books in rotation and discuss each topic. The presenter will summarise the contents of the texts, and the rest will submit a comment paper in advance. In each session, the class will proceed with a discussion based on the issues raised by the discussants. If necessary, students will be divided into small groups for discussion in the class.
