This seminar is intended for students who have acquired a basic knowledge of criminal law in the College of Law and Politics and aim to enter Law School and eventually a legal profession. The objective is to bestow upon such students advanced knowledge in regard to the field of criminal law, allowing them to solve problems with the application of said knowledge and eventually procure the ability to write as a legal professional.
Learners are expected to prepare by analyzing precedents, answering questions from the textbook or casebook, and drafting notes. They are sometimes required to submit their notes as reports. Students will also give presentations on what information they have prepared, which will then be analyzed and discussed by all of the participants. Throughout this process, each member should work toward deepening their ability to apply their knowledge of criminal law and their ability to write.

本演習は、法学部において刑法の基本的な知識を修得した学生で、法科大学院進学、ひいては法曹を目指すものを対象とするものである。当該学生に対して、刑法分野における発展的な知識を修得させ、またその知識を応用して問題を解決し、ひいては法曹として必要な文章を作成する能力を獲得させることを目標とする。

あらかじめ指定された教材に示された判例、あるいは設問等について、各自が分析し、解答し、そして文章を作成したうえで（当該文章はレポートとして提出してもらうことがある）、授業に参加する。また授業では、各自が予習してきた内容を発表し、授業参加者全員でこれを分析し、討論を行う。その過程において、各自の刑法に関する知識の応用力、そして文章作成能力を深めることとする。

選考に当たっては、以下のレポートを提出する。
・レポート課題：刑法分野において最も興味をもった判例（特別法違反を含む）を簡単に紹介し、興味を持った理由を説明せよ（A4 １枚以内）。
※法曹コース2年次生は自動登録科目。3年次以降は自動登録されないので、履修希望者は選考に申込むこと。
