The goal is to learn about early modern Japanese society and to understand its characteristics. I would like to examine how early modern Japanese society was formed and how it changed, using concrete historical materials.
Various facts related to early-modern Japanese society will be picked up to consider the characteristics of early-modern Japanese society. In class, I would like to take up historical materials from the early modern period, examine what we can learn from them, and deepen our understanding of early-modern Japanese society. The period covered is from the establishment of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's government to the late early modern period.

日本近世（江戸時代）の社会について学び、その特質を理解することを目標とする。日本近世の社会がどのように形作られ、またどのように変化していったのかを、具体的な歴史史料から検討していくことにしたい。

日本近世の社会に関わるさまざまな事象を取り上げて、近世社会の特質を考えていく。授業においては、できる限り近世の史料を具体的に取り上げて、そこからどのようなことがわかるのか検討し、近世社会に関する理解を深めていくことにしたい。対象とする時代の範囲は、豊臣秀吉の政権成立時期から近世後期までとする。
