By understanding Shanghai at the time of the concession from the perspective of political history, economic history, cultural history, communication history and other perspectives, we can deepen our understanding of the significance of China's 20th century history and urban research.
Shanghai in the concession era is China's first international city, commercial city and cultural city. In the lecture, the charm of Shanghai as a modern city is introduced not only from the main streets, but also from the micro-views such as the alleys and factory areas, the residential streets and cultural and educational facilities in the suburbs, the east-west exchanges in Shanghai, the image of Shanghai in Japan, and from the macro-view such as the comparison with other Chinese cities such as Beijing.

租界のあった時代の上海を政治史、経済史、文化史、交流史などの視点から多面的に理解することを通じ、中国の20世紀史と都市研究の意義について理解を深める。

租界のあった時代の上海は、中国一の国際都市、商業都市、文化都市であった。講義では上海の近代都市としての魅力を、繁華街や大通りだけでなく、路地裏や工場地帯、郊外の住宅街や文教施設、上海における東西交流、日本における上海表象などミクロな視点と、北京など他の中国の都市との比較などマクロな視点からそれぞれ紹介する。
