【Course Objectives】

This course provides an opportunity for learning mental illness and mental health in the past, particularly based on the discipline of western history. It also aims to develop students' understanding of the topic from various viewpoints of sociology, law, politics, economics, psychology, and welfare studies.

【Course Contents】

In this course, students learn the topi by reading a main text written by Roy Porter, along with peer work and discussion. They also examine the history of mental illness and mental health from various viewpoints of sociology, law, politics, economics, psychology, and welfare studies.
