In this course, by re-examining the relationship between media and society, students will learn about various ways of thinking encountered in sociology. We will be placing particular focus on communication.
Over the course of the past century, our social lives have progressed under the auspices of various forms of media. In recent years, the massive diffusion of the internet has provoked a major upheaval. This course hence aims to thoroughly re-examine the relationship between media and society from the viewpoint of communication. Students will learn how to use sociology in order to predict the future of society.

この講義では、コミュニケーションを中心的な視点に置きながら、メディアと社会の関係を捉え直すことを通じて、社会学の考え方について学ぶ。

今から一世紀にさかのぼる間に、私たちの社会生活は、多様なメディアとの関係において展開してきた。近年のインターネットの普及などによりさらに新たな状況の展開を迎える中で、この講義では、メディアと社会の関係を、コミュニケーションの観点により基礎からとらえ直すことを目的とする。そのことは、社会学を通して社会の将来を見通す手がかりともなるだろう。

| 授業時に資料の文献リストを通じて紹介する。授業で示した文献は試験の解答に使用することもできるので、どれか一部でよいので興味のあるものを学期内に読んでおくこと。 |
口頭での応答のほか、提出課題のコメントなどについても、実名によるコミュニケーションを重視したい。そのため、原則として初回から最後まで対面形式を継続する予定である。
教員が社会学部で担当の科目内容と一部が重複するので、社会学部の学生はその前提で履修すること。
