Acquire the abilities to effectively and attractively convey data through the utilization of visual techniques such as graphs and maps.
Data visualization is the utilization of visual techniques such as graphs and maps to present data in a clear and aesthetically pleasing manner. In the era of big data, the volume of information we handle is continually growing, and the capability to effectively depict data is vital across all industries.
During the first half of this class, you will learn general principles for imparting information accurately and efficiently, in accordance with the textbook's content. Throughout the course, by examining a variety of data visualization examples, students will develop the ability to differentiate between successful and unsuccessful examples (unattractive diagrams, inappropriate diagrams, and inaccurate diagrams) through interactive discussions. In the latter half of the class, students will be divided into groups of 3-4 and will engage in group work to practice data visualization.

データビジュアライゼーションとは，グラフやマップなどの視覚的な方法を用いて，データを分かりやすくかつ美しく表現することである。ビッグデータの時代において，私たちが扱うデータは日々膨大になっており，多くの専門分野において，データを効果的に表現するスキルが必須となっている。
前半の授業では，教科書の内容に沿って，情報を正確にかつ効果的に伝えるための一般的な原則を学ぶ。授業では，様々なデータビジュアライゼーションの事例を取り上げながら，双方向のディスカッションを通じて，成功例と失敗例（見栄えの悪い図，不適切な図，誤った図）を見分ける力を身につける。後半の授業では，3～4人程度のグループに分かれ，データビジュアライゼーションを実践するグループワークを行う。
