So far, many graduates of Rikkyo University have been active in media industry. Many of the students want to get a job in the media, but in many cases, such a desire ends up being just a longing for a glamorous world. Therefore, in this class, students will learn the real image of the media and the future.
Until now, television and newspapers have been the main sources of information, but nowadays, it is the mainstream to obtain information through news on the Internet and social media. Now that the media environment is changing rapidly, we will have to consider how information is created and transmitted, and how they affect people and society. We would like you to develop the ability to interact with the media with literacy by gaining a multifaceted and compound-eye perspective based on the topics provided by the guest speakers with practical experience in the media from various angles such as television, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, and advertisements.

これまで立教大学は多くの卒業生がメディアに関係する仕事に就き、活躍してきた。在学している学生の中にも、メディア関係への就職を希望しているものは多いが、そうした希望は、たんに華やかな世界への憧れだけに終わってしまっている場合も多いのが実情である。そこで本科目においては、メディアの実像と今後のあり方を学ぶ。

これまでテレビや新聞などが情報媒体の中心であったが、現在はインターネット上でのニュースやSNSで情報を得ることが主流となっている。メディア環境が急速に変わる今、情報が、どのように作られ、発信されているのか、そしてそれらがどのように人々や社会に影響を与えていくのかを考える。テレビ、新聞、雑誌、インターネット、広告等、様々な角度からメディアに携わる実務経験者の話題提供にもとづき、多角的、複眼的な視点を得ることで、リテラシーをもってメディアに触れる力を育んでほしい。
