Under the influence of the transition from modernization to globalization, the attributes of "performing arts" in the entertainment market have been replaced in new contexts, and they function as "entertainment software". This course will help student understand the characteristics of popular culture in the post-globalization era through the entertainment halls (yose theater) that are the iconic spaces of the "performing arts" and the performances that are performed there.
Like "ENGEKI(theater)", "ENGEI" is a concept that has been established in the modern age. Although they refer to various of arts (forms of performance), they have something in common: they are consumption-type entertainment and the performance space is small and the art is easy to enjoy. In today's globalized world, since the appearance of the Walkman the individual forms of enjoyment and the value of live performance were re-valued, regardless the consumers' own attributes and the attributes of the arts (form of performance). Consumers are able to select their preferred art (form of performance) from a variety of parallel options in Japan and overseas, which show that a new form of consumption in entertainment has been established. In this course, we will invite the actor/actress who are dedicated to the art of entertainment hall(寄席芸能) as lecturers to share specific examples so that we can understand better the world of the entertainment (yose performance).

近代化からグローバル化に移行する影響を受け、娯楽市場において「演芸」の属性が新たな文脈で置換され、娯楽ソフトとして機能している。「演芸」の代表的空間である寄席とそこで演じられる寄席芸を通じて、ポスト・グローバル時代の大衆文化の特性を理解する。

「演芸」は「演劇」同様、近代になって定着する概念で、具体的に指す芸（芸態）は多様だが、上演空間が狭い・気楽に楽しむ消費型娯楽という点 を共有する。グローバル化した現代では、ウォークマン以降定着した個別に楽しむスタイル、ライブの価値の再発見、消費者が自身の属性、芸 （芸態）の属性に関わらず、日本内外のものがフラットに並ぶ選択肢の中から自身の好みにより楽しむ芸（芸態）を選択するなど、娯楽における新 たな消費スタイルが定着してきた。本講座では寄席で演じられる芸に生きる方々を講師としてお迎えし、具体的なお話によって展開し、寄席の世界を理解する。

・本講座は1回3コマ集中（最終回7/8のみ2コマ）で行う。
・1回欠席すると、週1回授業の場合の3回欠席に相当するので気を付けること。
・最終回は総括の後、課題を提示、教場で作成する予定なので、必ず出席すること。
本科目は、担当教員の実務経験、または実務に従事するゲスト・スピーカーの招聘講義等を活かした授業である。
