【Course Objectives】

Moving-image works exist based on the relationship between the creator and the audience, a premise that applies to fictional films, TV shows, documentaries, and YouTube videos alike. In other words, the creator of a moving-image work must possess the techniques to control the emotions of the audience.
This course will introduce the techniques that creators use in each process of making their moving-image works. Furthermore, students will practice these techniques by creating their own short moving-image works.

【Course Contents】

Compared to the creation of other works of art, making a moving-image work involves a slightly more complicated process. This course will introduce the processes involved in making a fictional film. As they learn about these processes, students will also create their own moving-image works.
During the first seven weeks of the course, each student will create and present their own short work (1–2 minutes long).
During the seven weeks in the second half of the course, students will work in groups to create and present a short work (3–10 minutes long).
