We will get new viewpoints through elementary topics.
We take several elementary topics in these lectures, which are not usually treated
in the junior and junior high school textbooks.
Through these topics, we will know the history of mathematics
over 2000 years and we are still surrounded by unknown and unproved things.
We also recognize that the range of our understandings even
in the mathematical world is still getting wider at present time.

初等的な話題から新しい視点を得る。
We will get new viewpoints through elementary topics.
⾼校までの算数・数学の教科書ではあまり取り上げられていないにも関わらず初等的なトピックをいくつか取り上げて講義を⾏う。それらを通して，数学の発展の歴史，さらには現在でも私達は知らないことに囲まれ，少しずつ理解の領域を広げている歴史の過程の中に⾝を置いていることを感じてもらえばと思っている。2000年以上前に得られている結果，簡単な内容でも，ほんの100年ほど前に証明された定理，現在でも解決されていない問題なども紹介する。
We take several elementary topics in these lectures, which are not usually treated
in the junior and junior high school textbooks.
Through these topics, we will know the history of mathematics
over 2000 years and we are still surrounded by unknown and unproved things.
We also recognize that the range of our understandings even
