【Course Objectives】

What is the universe? We will provide an overview of the origin and history of the universe and the history and evolution of the galaxy and the solar system. We will touch upon the latest space images obtained from the state-of-the-art technology, deepen students' understanding of the universe, and think about the existence of the earth within the universe.

【Course Contents】

We will outline the large-scale structures of the planets of the solar system, the galaxy, and the universe based on the latest observational results, and explain each celestial body and the phenomena occurring there. In addition, we will introduce the experience of the instructor who was responsible for development of the cameras on Hayabusa2 which brought the samples of the asteroid Ryugu in December 2020 and the Mercury explorer Mio launched in October 2018. Also, in recent years many earth-like planets have been discovered outside the solar system, and the latest research will be introduced.
