Richard Feynman once said "what I cannot create, I do not understand. " A recent progress of life sciences provided a new science field, synthetic biology. This course will teach students what synthetic biology is.
In the first half, student will learn about synthetic biology including basic knowledge of life sciences like genome, protein and cell. The second half will focus on potential impact of synthetic biology on our societies including healthcare, industry, and ethics.

新しい生命科学の潮流である「合成生物学」は、次世代の産業分野としても注目されている。合成生物学について科学的に正しく理解し、その未来と可能性について説明できるようになる。
Richard Feynman once said "what I cannot create, I do not understand. " A recent progress of life sciences provided a new science field, synthetic biology. This course will teach students what synthetic biology is.
・前半はゲノム、タンパク質、細胞といった生命科学の基礎的な内容を盛り込みながら合成生物学とはどのような学問なのか紹介する。実際のバイオ実験なども体験。
・後半は、合成生物学の未来および産業としての可能性について、医療、産業、倫理面を中心に、スタートアップ創業の実体験も交えて解説する。キャリア、アントレプレナーシップを意識した内容。
・googleフォームを介したリアルタイム双方向コミュニケーション。
