We believe that we live in a world where time flows from the past to the future in a three-dimensional space of length, width, and height. But, is that really true? In this course, we will aim to connect these ideas to cutting edge science by asking questions scientifically from many angles.
Most of the basic knowledge of our worldview has been obtained scientifically. For example, why do we think that space is three dimensional? Why do we think that time flows? In this course, we will introduce the scientific basis that supports such a basic view of the world and the forefront of modern science that continues to doubt it. In particular, we will consider the usual view of life that you are only alive in one moment during the continuous flow of time. In the course, students will discuss among themselves and confirm and become able to understand, including conducting simple experiments.

私たちは、縦横高さの三次元空間の中で、過去から未来へと時間が流れる世界に生きていると信じています。しかし、それは本当でしょうか。本授業では、これらの考えを科学的に多方面から疑って、最先端の科学へとつなげることを目標とします。

私たちの世界観の最も基礎となる知識は、科学的に得られてきたものが多々あります。例えば、私たちは何故、空間が三次元だと思っているのでしょうか？どうして、時間が流れると思っているのでしょうか。この授業では、この様な、基礎的な世界観を支える科学的な根拠と、それを疑い続ける現代科学の最前線を紹介します。特に、流れ続ける時間の中である時期だけ、自分が生きているという当たり前の人生観について考察します。授業内では、多くのグループワークを通じて、自分たちで議論し、簡単な実験を含めて確認して理解できる様にします。
