This course addresses current topics and issues in tourism and helps students gain a sense of the problems relating to tourism in modern society.
Tourism engenders high expectations as a key factor of community revitalization and economic growth in Japan. But “overtourism” is generating many problems in community life and the social environment. This course will raise issues of tourism and community revitalization. Students will grasp the various environmental conditions involving current tourism and changing trends in tourism and learn about the significance and role of tourism in modern society. Together we will think further about the ways to promote desired tourism in the future.

この授業は、観光の実態を知り、現代社会における観光のあり方について問題意識を持ってもらうことをねらいとしています。
This course addresses current topics and issues in tourism and helps students gain a sense of the problems relating to tourism in modern society.
観光は、国の成長戦略や地方創生の切り札として大きな期待が寄せられています。しかし他方では、地域の暮らしや社会環境に悪影響を及ぼす“オーバーツーリズム”が問題視されています。この授業では、観光や地域振興に関わる様々な問題を提起していきます。現代の観光を取り巻く様々な環境条件と変わりゆく観光の動向を把握するとともに、現代社会における観光の意義や役割、あり方について考えてみましょう。
