In recent years, gender studies has stood out as a discipline that has experienced spectacular growth. The goal of this course is for students to understand that gender is a concept shared by everyone living in modern society, and for students to accurately comprehend this concept.
Students will look back upon their growth from the standpoint of gender, examining each topic discussed by relating it to their own lives. Students will acquire knowledge necessary to liberate themselves from pointless gender biases, enabling themselves to become a person who can contribute to the formation of a better society. Subjects related to sports and school gym classes will play a leading part in each topic discussed in the lecture.

近年、目覚ましい発展を遂げている学問分野の一つとして、ジェンダー・スタディーズが挙げられる。ジェンダーは現代社会を生きる全ての者に共通する概念であることから、その概念を正しく理解することを目標とする。

ジェンダーの視点から自身の成育史を振り返り、各回のテーマと自らを結びつけて考察する。無用なジェンダー・バイアスから自らを解放し、よりよい社会づくりの一員となるために必要な知識を身につける。なお、各回のテーマを講義する際には、スポーツや学校体育に関する話題が中心となる。

ジェンダーは「性」に深くかかわる概念である。従って、授業内で視聴する視聴覚資料の中には、性的な描写が含まれることもある。そのような資料を目にしたくない場合には、ガイダンス後に相談のこと。
また、授業の構成上、「ウエルネスプロモーション論」と内容の一部が重複することとなる。
