Intended for those individuals who have no prior learning experience or are at a similar level. The goal of J1 course is to acquire basic abilities including Japanese notation and pronunciation so as to be able to communicate in Japanese in basic everyday activities such as shopping, asking for directions, etc., to learn hiragana and katakana, the conjugations of basic verbs and adjectives and develop a vocabulary of about 500 words. And the goal of Grammar 1 class is to understand the most basic sentence form for the noun sentence, adjective sentence, verb sentence, basic conjugations of basic particles, verbs, and adjectives, as well as be able to use them in everyday life.
The course is centered on a textbook and a vocabulary list. Students will practice using practiced sentence forms and vocabulary in everyday life situations. Students must do vocabulary and grammar preparation before class and work on the review exercises after class.

日本語(にほんご)を学習(がくしゅう)した経験(けいけん)のない者(もの),およびそれに準(じゅん)ずる者(もの)を対象(たいしょう)とする。Ｊ１コース全体(ぜんたい)の目標(もくひょう)は,日本語(にほんご)の表記(ひょうき)や発音(はつおん)などを含(ふく)む,基礎的(きそてき)な能力(のうりょく)を身(み)につけ,買(か)い物(もの)や道(みち)の聞(き)き方(かた)など,日常(にちじょう)生活(せいかつ)の基本的(きほんてき)な活動(かつどう)で日本語(にほんご)が使(つか)えるようにすること,ひらがな,カタカナ表記(ひょうき),基本的(きほんてき)な動詞(どうし)や形容(けいよう)詞(し)の活用(かつよう),約(やく)５００語(ご)の単語(たんご)を学習(がくしゅう)することである。その中(なか)で,文法(ぶんぽう)１クラスの目標(もくひょう)は,名詞(めいし)文(ぶん),形容詞(けいようし)文(ぶん),動詞(どうし)文(ぶん)それぞれの最(もっと)も基本的(きほんてき)な文型(ぶんけい),および基本的(きほんてき)な助詞(じょし),動詞(どうし)や形容詞(けいようし)の基本的(きほんてき)な活用(かつよう)を理解(りかい)し,それらを日常(にちじょう)生活(せいかつ)の中(なか)で使(つか)えるようになることである。

テキストと語彙(ごい)リストを軸(じく)として,習(なら)った文型(ぶんけい)や語彙(ごい)を日常(にちじょう)生活(せいかつ)の場面(ばめん)で使(つか)う練習(れんしゅう)を行(おこな)う。学生(がくせい)は授業前(じゅぎょうまえ)に必(かなら)ず語彙(ごい)や文法(ぶんぽう)の予習(よしゅう)を行(おこな)ってこなければならない。
