The purpose of this class is to develop students' academic language skills in the following areas: listening, note-taking, discussion, and presentation skills. Students explore a variety of topics derived from academic lecture content, building their note-taking and academic discussion skills, and later review how to construct and give a formal presentation, which they have previously learned in other mandatory classes.
The class covers the following academic skills: academic listening, note-taking, discussion skills, and presentation skills. Students will “attend” authentic lectures using digital materials, take notes on the lecture content, and use their notes for discussion and other activities. (Instructors may use materials from the internet such as TED talks). Simultaneously, students will review and improve presentation skills, leading to a formal presentation as the final evaluation.
※Please refer to Japanese Page for details including evaluations, textbooks and others.
