【Course Objectives】

The aims of this course are: to come to understand the nature and various structures of debate in English, to become able to view and formulate arguments on issues from multiple perspectives, to learn how to search for useful resources and how to respond to questions.

【Course Contents】

Debate is a genre of communication in which participants engage with each other on a topic from opposing perspectives. Students will familiarize themselves with this genre and also the vocabulary and rhetorical structures needed to express views on a range of challenging issues.
