Students will learn the basics of education through service; work together with students from Japanese, Korean, and Philippine universities; and learn about communities in the Manila area while participating in meaningful service projects.
Pre-departure sessions will introduce service learning and the social situations of communities in Manila. In the Philippines, students will join with Japanese, Korean, and Philippine students, and after orientation sessions they will work together with partner communities with which Trinity University of Asia (TUA Quezon City, Manila) has developed a service and education relationship. Volunteer work will be with preschools, centers for street children, medical facilities, and the like. Meaningful engagement will lead to understanding of local communities and work with them and with Philippine teachers and students to develop mutually beneficial interactions.

It is recommended that students have a score of 400 or above on TOEIC®, and that they have completed Zenkari English classes.

【全体的な注意事項】
・本シラバスの内容は、新型コロナウイルス感染症の感染状況、または自然災害やその他社会情勢によって変更となる場合がある。
・本科目の具体的な学外活動内容、履修申込方法等の詳細は、別途RSLセンターHPにて8月上旬公開予定の「履修の手引き」を参照すること。（閲覧は要V-CampusID/PW）
・本科目は科目の特性上、原則対面授業で実施する。特に学外実習は宿泊形式で実施するので、これに参加することが履修の条件となる。この点を充分理解した上で履修すること。
・対面による学外実習は2024年2月中旬～下旬（約2週間）の期間、フィリピン・マニラにおいて宿泊形式で実施する。
【新型コロナウイルス関連】
・授業への参加には、「海外渡航用の新型コロナワクチン接種証明書」が必要となる見込みである。詳細については、7月および8月開催予定の事前説明会で確認すること。新型コロナウィルス感染拡大の状況によっては、現地での学外実習をオンライン形式に変更する場合があるので、あらかじめ留意すること。
【事前説明会】
・履修希望者は、履修登録に関する「事前説明会」に必ず出席すること。なお、やむを得ない理由により出席できない場合はRSLセンターに必ず相談すること。
＜実施形式＞ 対面もしくはZoomによるオンライン形式で実施する（予定）
＜実施日程＞ 2023年7月上旬、8月下旬（※各回、内容は異なる）
具体的な日程、ZoomのURL、その他詳細については立教時間、SPIRITメール、RSLセンターホームページ、RSLセンターTwitter等で6月上旬頃から案内する。
【履修申込方法】
・本科目の履修登録は「抽選登録」で行う。
・履修登録後の自己都合による履修辞退（履修中止）は一切認められないので注意すること。
【授業日程】
・授業は「事前・事後学習」（池袋キャンパス）＋「学外実習」（フィリピン・マニラ）で行われ、定められた全日程に参加しなければならない。
＜事前学習＞
第1回 9月30日（土）午後 池袋キャンパス
第2回 10月14日（土）午後 池袋キャンパス

実施教室は別途指示する。
＜学外実習＞
2024年2月中旬～下旬（約2週間） フィリピン・マニラ

【保険・学外実習参加費】
・履修登録者（参加者）は、学外実習にかかる参加費及び往復航空代金として250,000円程度（宿泊費・保険料を含む）が必要となる。履修登録完了後、参加費納入等、学外実習に関する手続きについては、立教トラベルプラザ経由で行う。また、参加費とは別に、居住地から集合地までの往復交通費（集合地：成田空港）は自己負担となる。なお、本科目は、立教大学グローバル奨学金適用科目となる（詳細は、学生部奨学金ホームページ参照のこと）。
【履修上の注意点】
・履修登録後の自己都合による履修辞退（履修中止）は一切認められない。やむを得ない理由で辞退を申し出る場合には、一定の手続きを経る必要がある。辞退が認められた場合でも、キャンセル費用が発生する場合はキャンセル費用を全額負担すること。
【その他】
・初回授業までに当該年度の定期健康診断を必ず受診すること。
・授業についての指示、参加費納入案内等は、立教時間、Blackboard、CanvasLMS及びSPIRITメールを使用する。使用方法は各自で習熟すること。
・本科目はCUAC（世界聖公会大学連合会）、フィリピン・トリニティ大学と提携して実施する。
・本科目は、立教サービスラーニング（RSL）科目群のひとつである。
