【Course Objectives】

The "marine litter problem" has been attracting global attention. Through lectures and fieldwork, to
recognize that marine litter issues are interconnected with other social issues and implement measures to solve. This course focuses on Goals 12, 14, 15, and 17 of the SDGs, and cultivates the structure of the issues and perspectives for solving.

【Course Contents】

Fieldwork on riverbed of the Arakawa River. Focusing on the "river litter problem," one of the social
issues faced by the Arakawa River, which boasts highest population densities in Japan, students will learn about the causes of this problem through lectures and by constructing and practicing events aimed to solve.
