We aim to develop 'Global Career Leadership & Collaboration' that anybody can develop through practice. It starts with one's unique perspectives on the world and people, leading to the creation of new value for others and society by transforming one's genuine curiosity and problem awareness into new actions.
On the leadership journey, we also explore the sense of direction in one's career and life, where personal motivation emerges as an indispensable element for exerting sustainable and fulfilling leadership. This enables us to continue challenging ourselves even in this rapidly changing world. Additionally, with advancements in the online environment, we strive for trust- and fun-based collaboration with diverse friends beyond fields and borders, across countries.
We all live in the same world, yet each of us has a different perspective on it. Within this diversity, our interests and problem awareness vary from person to person. In any era throughout human history, individuals have always brought forth their own perspectives, interests, and problem awareness, and transformed them into actions, thereby creating necessary changes for people to thrive in the present.
In our current world, there is an urgent need to weave together new answers for the countless adaptation challenges across all fields. While it is crucial for individuals to bring forth new perspectives and translate them into actions, that alone is not enough in this rapidly changing world. To spin new answers, we must embrace trial and error, innovation, and the willingness to continuously challenge ourselves without burning out. This journey-like process requires personal motivation, the driving force towards a fulfilling life, as well as collaboration with others who possess diverse perspectives.
So, where can we find these three diverse powers: the leadership to transform new perspectives into actions, the collaboration with diverse individuals, and the driving force to sustain continuous action in the world?
In "ACE ONLINE - Global Career Leadership & Collaboration", we focus on the realization that these diverse powers exist within each individual, nurtured within their own life experiences and career paths, and can be harnessed by everyone. This is what we refer to as "Career Leadership," where individuals transform their newfound perspectives, interests, and problem awareness into actions, collaborate with diverse individuals, and weave together new value. It is a power that anyone can develop.
However, in the process of exercising career leadership and creating meaningful change in the world, there are two significant challenges.
The first challenge is "how to exert leadership in a positive direction." In our current world, where technologies such as AI continue to advance at an astonishing pace, it becomes essential to consider how and for what purpose we, as human beings, utilize these technologies. Contemplating the direction of leadership is crucial as it holds the key to creating positive changes in the world.
The second challenge is "how to establish trust and collaborate with diverse individuals." When embarking on new endeavors, we encounter people with different perspectives. As diversity increases, so do conflicts and misunderstandings, making collaboration more challenging. How can we bridge the gap and collaborate with individuals whose ways of thinking differ from our own? This becomes the key to achieving change with and through others.
Addressing these challenges requires embracing diverse perspectives, thoughts, and dialogue. That's why ACE ONLINE brings together members from different countries to explore how each person's unique perspectives and sense of direction can be utilized. Through this process, we not only develop individual career leadership but also learn practical methodologies to transform it into positive change and bring it into reality in the real world.
For the course objectives above,
1. Practising, reflecting, extracting learning, and connecting it to the next practise in and outside of the class.
2. Creating own mini project with own interests and curiosity to exert Career Leadership outside of the class.
3. Making the presentation to share own initiatives and new value generated from you to the people around.
*The below schedule is subject to change due to the need for coordination among faculty members and students from different countries.
※Please refer to Japanese Page for details including evaluations, textbooks and others.
