We will present the economic and social significance, purpose, and results of tourism in the new era to students beginning their studies in the College of Tourism, and gain basic knowledge about the tourism industry.
Tourism industry is a general term for activities promoting the utility and various effects of tourism that are carried out by diverse parties such as governments and local organizations, companies that offer various products and services that make tourism possible, and local residents. Lectures will cover basic tourism knowledge, as well as the whole picture of the tourism industry through case studies.
Guest speakers will be invited to explain the tourism industry from an insider's perspective.

観光学を学ぼうとする学生に対し､ 新しい時代の観光の経済的､ 社会的意義や目的､ 効果を提示するとともに、観光事業に関する基本的な知識を習得する。
We will present the economic and social significance, purpose, and results of tourism in the new era to students beginning their studies in the College of Tourism, and gain basic knowledge about the tourism industry.
観光事業とは、観光の効用や諸効果を促進するための活動の総称であり、政府や地方自治体、観光を可能とする各種製品やサービスを提供する民間企業、地域住民など多様な主体によって行われる。観光に関する基礎的な知識と合わせて、観光事業の全体像について、事例を交えながら講義を行う。
適宜、ゲストスピーカーを招いて観光事業の内情について解説いただく。
