This course will introduce methods for analyzing and considering various tourism phenomena based on economic methods (microeconomics, macroeconomics). This course consists of three main parts. First, students will learn about econometric methods and economic analysis using tourism data. Second, I will introduce the tourism industry in Japan and how analyze it from an economic viewpoint. In particular, students will learn about the importance of the value of natural resources for regions that uses area-specific natural environments as tourism resources. Finally, students will consider the economic significance of some new tourism and examine problems in tourism. Note that since this course deals with economic and econometric models, prior knowledge of mathematics and statistics is required.

この授業では、さまざまな観光現象を経済学的手法（ミクロ・マクロ経済学）に基づいて分析・考察する手法が紹介される。主に三つのパートからなる。第一部では、観光に関するデータを用いた計量分析について学ことで、観光にかかるデータを使った経済分析を紹介する。第二部では、観光産業について経済学の視点から分析する。特に、地域固有の自然環境を観光資源としている観光地にとって自然資源の価値がどれほど観光産業に重要かを学ぶ。第三部では、新たなツーリズムの経済学的意義について考察し観光の問題点についても経済学の視点から考察する。なお、本講義では経済モデルや計量モデルを扱うため、数学・統計学の予備的知識を必須とする。

入門レベルのミクロ経済学、マクロ経済学、経済数学、統計学の書籍をしっかりと読み予習しておくこと。これらの予備知識がない場合、本講義を理解することは難しい。
