You will gain basic knowledge about urban planning, and learn how to look at and analyze urban spaces. You will also come to understand urban planning systems and their effects on the establishment of tourist spots.
After understanding the basic concept of urban planning in Japan and its historical background, you will learn about the urban preservation and landscape laws, which are deeply connected to tourism.
In this course, we will raise our level of understanding of what cities are and how they are formed.

都市計画に関する基本的知識を身に付け、都市空間の見方や分析方法を習得する。また、観光地を観光地として成立させるのに影響を与えている都市計画関連制度について理解する。
You will gain basic knowledge about urban planning, and learn how to look at and analyze urban spaces. You will also come to understand urban planning systems and their effects on the establishment of tourist spots.
観光まちづくりを理解するためには、その前段として、都市計画の理解が欠かせない。本講義では、我が国における都市計画の基本的な考え方やその歴史的経緯を理解した上で、観光との関わりが深い都市の歴史的環境保全や景観法について学ぶ。
この授業を通じて、都市とは何か、都市はどうやって出来上がっているのかということへの関心を高める。
