Imagine that you are to revitalize a hot spring resort. Imagine that you are a manager of a destination with over-tourism problem. What will you do for the destination?
This course will discuss the methodology of destination management for the sustainable development.
Students will understand historical development of destination management in Japan. After that the methodology of "sustainable destination planning approach" will be discussed.

あなたがもし観光客が大幅に減少し衰退してしまった温泉地の再生を手掛けるとしたら？あなたがもし過度な観光地化によって住民の生活に影響が生じている観光地の問題解決を考えなくてはならなくなったら？
本講義では、持続可能な観光地域の発展のために必要な観光地全体のマネジメント、すなわち「観光地経営」の考え方とその推進にあたって必要な方法論について学ぶものである。

現在の日本国内の観光地が置かれた状況を、歴史的な視点から俯瞰し、観光地という単位でのマネジメントが求められるようになっていることを理解する。その上で、観光地経営に求められる視点と、観光地経営の地区スケールの計画論としての「地域観光プランニング」のアプローチを概説する。理論と事例の双方から講義を行なっていく。
Students will understand historical development of destination management in Japan. After that the methodology of "sustainable destination planning approach" will be discussed.
