【Course Objectives】

Students will participate in international exchange based on inter-departmental agreement that lasts about ten days. They will learn the basics of the language, society and culture of the destination through lectures as well as living in cross-cultural environments. Furthermore, by spending time together with the students at our partner institutions it is aimed to improve our students’ communication skills.

【Course Contents】

This year, we will offer five courses in Chinese (in Zhongshan University), Indonesian (in the University of Indonesia), Thai (in Thammasat University), and Vietnamese (in Vietnam National University Hanoi-University of Humanities and Social Sciences). Each course consists of language training, lectures and practical immersion in social and cultural matters, training tours, field surveys, and exchange events with students from partner institutions. During the spring semester, students from partner institutions will visit Japan and attend a two-week training course at the College of Tourism, Rikkyo University. They will be assisted by students of Rikkyo University as designated buddies. During the summer, students from Rikkyo University will take part in on-site training overseas arranged by partner institutions but unaccompanied by faculty members from Rikkyo University. Students must take responsibility for their own safety and wellbeing. Students wishing to enrol in this course are required to read and accept the terms and conditions as described in the handbook.
Depending on the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the on-site training may be changed to an online course.
